The reviews – Positive and Negative
Based on the Rockwell RK7240.1 reviews from some users or buyers, this RK7240.1 Shop Series table saw with stand is one of awful and terrible table saw by Rockwell. For some reasons, this table saw is not a good choice. For example, this table saw features miter gauge which is made of cheap plastic. The fence is cheap quality and does not give an accurate output. Shaft is too short. Saw dust comes out the face plate.
The products design and construction of this Rockwell table saw are of lousy quality. This table saw cannot stay steady or balanced. Guide was tricky to clamp which does not with any accuracy, blade vibration from the very start and in general. For addition, the fence prevents users making straight cuttings and the blade cannot be adjusted so that it remains at an angle.
So many lacks of this table saw that makes this product is not liked by users. The legs of this table saw are made of very thin and very malleable metal. The rubber feet has provided fall off the legs hilariously easily. The miter gauge will not hold angle. The fence will not stay secure. The teeth on the bevel adjust are made of soft plastic. The blade raise and lower screw feels uncomfortably tight and I bet it’s slowly chewing up the threads. Therefore, this table saw is quickly become stripped and nonfunctional after adjusting the blade only several times.
Mostly user do not like this Rockwell table saw because the adjustment wheel is wobbly. So, the stand is unstable and unsteady. The stand is stamped steel, very thin gauge, bolted together. For addition, this table saw does not cut straight or well. The saw casing is a plastic fire hazard and the table is cast aluminum with a ground surface so that this table is light and is not really portable. It is just too flimsy. The miter gauge is flimsy plastic so that it is impossible to get it set at a true angle.
In my opinion, overall this Rockwell table saw has poor design and awful quality. Thus, I think that I will not go to recommend this Rockwell RK7240.1 Shop Series table saw.
