Ridgid MS1290LZA Reviews – Positive and Negative

This Ridgid MS1290LZA miter saw is kind of so-so saw. This miter saw has both good and weak features. For good features, such as the sliding rails are sturdy and solid, therefore there is minimal blade deflection. Some reviews agree that this saw gives accurate cuts. The largest table of all sliders is excellent support for the piece of cutting. Large handle on the miter gage is easy to set or move. The included clamp is easy to squeeze down on a board or loosen, and also fits on either side of the blade.

Also, this saw has great safety feature when cutting small pieces. Handle is designed for a right-handed person. Very high fence provides support for whether high crown or base molding. Powerful 15-amp motor does not bog down. Blade stops almost instantly whenever the on/off bar switch is released. Polycarbonate blade guard works flawlessly and never gets in the way. This saw is easy to grip the blade guard up with right thumb, as gripping the handle, to pinpoint blade positioning.

Besides the good features, this Ridgid miter saw has also some weak features. For example, this saw has heavy and bulky design. The other lack of this saw is that dust pickup is awful. The dust bag is useless unless you use a vacuum.

In conclusion, this Ridgid MS1290LZA miter saw has both good and bad features. The dust collection is weak. This saw is the heavy-weight and bulky, but the slide rails are strong and the table and miter system is top notch. The clamp works well. The laser is easy to set up and works well. This saw cuts good and straight, unless if using the slide. Thus, based on some reviews, even though it is not really good enough for woodworkers, but I think that this saw is still recommended for the homeowner because this saw still has some good features that give the well and straight cuts. However, this Ridgid MS1290LZA miter saw is NOT recommended for a craftsman or woodworker.
