This guide is intended to outline how to operate framing nailers and their uses. Among the proposed machines, we can distinguish the classics, percussion drills and hammers. The strength depends on the pressure, the rotary hammer (ideal for concrete), can work without pressing anything. Learn the most common Uses of Nailers!
The speed of rotation allowed by the mechanical speed is reached determined progressively in the case of the holes provided with an electronic speed regulator (variable speed drill), or directly to the machines without and without speed regulator or with two mechanical speeds. The speed is regulated by the trigger (with action button). The most important ones are the diameter of the drill hole and the hardness of the material, the lower the speed.
Concrete / stone or hard brick
This is among common uses of framing nailers. To drill concrete, brick or stone or hard percussion connect the nailer (active function). Before reaching the hard layer, wait for the connection, and avoid damaging the surface of the wall. We can distinguish:
– Drills for stone and concrete: the two classes have tungsten carbide tips (usually colored). If the stone cannot drill holes in concrete, verify that the direction in which tour the bit is right, and activate the feature in your drill hammer drill.
– Soft materials: drilling in soft construction materials (plaster blocks or plates, ceramic, stone and soft normal brick) are done without impact. Failure to do so, may lead to a big hole.
The depth guide
The guide (or top) deep, needs to be slipped behind or in front of the machine and pressed to the desired distance relative to the tip of the drill, we will limit the depth of the hole. Note that the side handle helps improve the grip during heavy work and allows them to exert more pressure. Sometimes it is movable. During drilling, hold the machine in correct position to avoid damaging or breaking the bit: a twisted drill is unusable.
To obtain a large hole in a wall for example, the first drill a series of holes which follow the shape of a circle. During drilling, the drill regularly removed so the hole does not fill with dust. The ceramic or tile drill can be done with carbide tip. Mark the location of the hole with a sharp point and a pen. Across, on this basis, apply two strips of clear tape and drill slightly so that the bit does not slip.
For glass drill, you need to bit with a stone. Place the plate on a nice flat surface, wearing glasses and drill at low speed.
When looking onto uses of framing nailer, metal is pretty common. Start by marking the location of the hole with a stroke of punch: after the wick positioned accurately to avoid runoff. As a final note, you may need to lubricate it. You can do so with petroleum jelly, cooking oil, etc.
