The Breadman TR2700 is housed in brushed stainless-steel with attractive black accents, making it easy on the eye, ensuring it will complement your modern kitchen. However, due to this exterior it is prone to showing fingerprints so you should always carry the machine using the side handles to avoid this.

Convection Baking with Breadman

The built-in convection fan circulates air inside the machine so baked loaves have a superior even browning and a crisper texture. We’re pretty impressed with this feature as it does make a noticeable difference to the crispiness of loaves.

Loaf Options

Whether you need to bake for a small party or a big gathering, the 3 loaf size options give you ample choice to bake a loaf which is either- 1 lb, 1.5 lb or 2 lb. The 3 crust shade settings allow you to choose from a light, medium or dark crust. By default, the machine will bake on medium crust setting unless you program a different crust setting prior to starting the machine.

The Breadman TR2700 features a host of baking options to produce a wide variety of breads. The 16 pre-programmed baking courses include White, Whole Wheat, French Bread, Sweet, Low Carb, Gluten-free, Quick Breads, Jam, Dough, Pizza Dough, Rapid Bake and Bake Only.

If you’re an experienced baker, you’ll be pleased to know there is a Save Your Faves function which allows you to pre-program up to five of your own personal recipes. This function is very flexible as it not only allows you to alter cycle lengths, but also skip entire cycles. Additionally, using the Custom Program function you can also modify the pre-programmed settings to change the cycle lengths manually.

If you like the idea of having freshly baked bread for breakfast, you’ll appreciate the 24-hour bake timer which makes it possible without the inconvenience of programming the machine manually in the middle of the night.

Automatic Fruit/Nut Dispenser

The automatic fruit/nut dispenser lets you add those scrumptious fruits and nuts to your dough automatically at the right time without the inconvenience of needing to add them manually after a beep signal.

The Breadman TR2700 Bread Maker is a stylishly designed machine which combines form and function. It has an impressive range of features for its relatively low price.

The low-carb and gluten-free cycles are ideal for those who are on special diets.

The instant recall feature comes in very handy in the event of a power failure by storing your settings for up to 7 minutes, allowing you to resume your bread making session when the power is resumed.

The cool-touch carry handles located either side makes it easy and convenient to move the machine into a storage area or into another room.

Non-stick removable loaf pan ensures easy cleaning.

The LCD screen on the control panel doesn’t feature a backlight so operating the controls in low lighting areas can be difficult.

Several users have experienced problems with the bread pan becoming loose from the holders in the baking chamber. This problem arises because the two metal clips which hold the pan in place are too weak and flexible.

Cleaning the fruit/nut dispenser can be a bit awkward because it cannot be removed from the machine; therefore small nuts sometimes become stuck inside the dispenser and require a small instrument such as a toothpick to remove them.

The included measuring cup doesn’t have clearly marked measuring lines as they are inside the container which makes them awkward to see.

The viewing window is rather small so it’s hard to see the kneading and baking process properly.

The Breadman TR2700 Stainless-Steel Programmable Convection Bread Maker is a machine which has us torn. It has an excellent feature-set with a good range of custom programmable options, but its poor build quality and lack of intuitive controls lets it down.

Given the fairly low cost of this bread machine you may want to go for it especially if you’re into convection baking and need the flexibility of programmable settings, but bear in mind that you may encounter a problem with the bread pan coming out of place due to the poor design of the bread pan holders.
