There are many types of juicers that claim they will juice wheatgrass, but often they do not. Most popular juicers make use of centrifugal force to extract juice and they are not capable of breaking down the tougher plant fibers of wheatgrass and similar fibrous greens. For wheatgrass juicing, you need a juicer with an auger and gears, which crushes and grind (masticate) the greens to extract the juice.
The Lexen Healthy Juicer is one of the more efficient juicer at juicing wheatgrass. It is available in two designs – electrical and manual. The Lexen Electric Healthy Juicer, also reviewed here, is specifically designed to handle leafy greens of all kinds, including spinach, parsley or cabbage. The Lexen Manual Hand Powered Healthy Juicer does the same job as the electric juicer but at a fraction of the cost. It is also compact and weighs much less, which makes it light to take it with you when you travel.
It is easy to assemble for use and take apart for cleaning. The parts are all made of tough polycarbonate which is practically indestructible. The parts of the juicer that receives the most force – the tip of auger and the inside of the end cap – are made of stainless steel.
The juicer attaches to a table or counter-top with a suction base and also includes an optional sturdy chrome-plated metal clamp that can be used by itself or along with the suction base as well.
The manual healthy juicer is the easiest, most efficient and most affordable manual wheatgrass juicer available on the market, but don’t be fooled by its price.

The reviews for the Lexen Manual Hand Powered Healthy Juicer have all been fairly positive with an average rating of 4.0 out of a possible 5 stars.
The most attractive aspects for most users seemed to be the easy setup and the ease of cleaning. Most people know about the extensive health benefits of juicing, but nobody enjoys the process of setting up the juicer and worst of all spend half their time cleaning it daily. What good is a juicer if you end up never using it? The Lexen Healthy Juicer may be the juicer one needs. In the words of a reviewer ” With the healthy juicer you will want to juice more because it is easier to use and clean”. The entire juicer disassembles down into base pieces than can be hand-washed easily and left to dry.
Most of the negative reviews came from people who wanted a bigger hopper. The small hopper requires frequent reloading. Masticating juicers in general tend to have somewhat smaller hopper , but the Z-star manual juicer (though at twice the cost) has a somewhat bigger hopper.
Overall, the machine performs pretty well and does an amazing job at juicing wheatgrass. It also does an extremely good job on other green leafy vegetables. If you don’t want to spend $200 on an electric masticating juicer, or aren’t sure whether you’ll stick to it, this one’s worth a try. You use no electricity, you can take it anywhere, and you even get a little arm exercise while using it.
