Back in the early 90s we witnessed the rise of the infomercial. Products have been sold on television since the first TVs came out in the 50s but it wasn’t until the 1990s that we started seeing 30 minute television commercials produced to show the features and benefits of a particular product and of course to sell those products.
One of the first products to have a huge amount of success being sold via infomercials was the Juiceman juicer. Those early Juiceman infomercials featured an elderly yet very energetic Jay Kordich passionately talking about the health benefits of drinking juice made from fresh fruits and vegetables every day.
Of course the Juiceman products consist mainly of a line of juice extractors. However, on their website they do offer a hand blender that retails for $69.99. Their juice machines range in price from about $59.99 to $129.99. Those are the prices listed on their website but if you search some other online retailers you will be able to find better prices. In fact, on Amazon.com we saw one particular model for sale at just $24.99.
For about $25 you can pick up the Juiceman JCJ150S 40-Watt Automatic Citrus Juicer. This model features two juicing cones that will allow you to juice small or large citrus fruits. It also has an auto reversing juicing action that allows the cone to turn both ways and is designed to get every last drop of juice out of the fruit you put into it.
For about $60 you can get the Juiceman JM300 Electric Juicer. This model has 700 watts of power and two different speeds. It has a digital, backlit control panel, a widemouth feed chute, an extra-large pulp basket, and all of the parts are dishwasher safe.
For about $70 you can get the Juiceman JM400. This model has a lot of the same features as the one above but also features a stainless steel permanent mesh filter and a chrome plated housing.
For approximately $80 they offer the All-in-One Juice Extractor & Citrus Juicer. This model features a 1.1 horsepower motor with 300 watts of power. It has a three inch wide feed chute and an extra-large integrated pulp container. It also features a stainless steel mesh filter, the parts are dishwasher safe and it also features built in cord storage.
Their most expensive model is available for about $130. The Juiceman JM1000M Multifunctional Juice Extractor and food processor is a two speed machine that also has a pulse button. It has 800 watts of power, an extra-large pulp container, a three inch wide feed chute and a stainless steel mesh filter. It also has a food processor bowl that is able to hold up to nine cups of food.
The Consumer Perception of Juiceman Juicers
If you’re considering purchasing one of the juicers mentioned above it would be a good idea to do a little bit of research before spending your money. Fortunately we have already taken the liberty to do this research for you. The unfortunate thing is that for the most part the reviews for these juicers are less than stellar. Interestingly, it is their least expensive model that received the best reviews online.
The Juiceman JCJ150S which is available for $24.99 received an average user rating of 4.4 out of a possible 5 stars. This model is really only good for citrus juicing but many of the reviewers are saying that it is the best citrus juicer they have ever used. It is sturdy, it is simple to operate and it is easy to clean. This is a citrus juicer though so don’t expect to be feeding in whole fruits and vegetables.
The reviews for all of the other models were a lot more mixed. Of course there are some customers saying that the other juicers are fantastic but there are more than enough negative reviews to concern us a little bit. The reviews for the other models are not great but they are also a lot less expensive than some of the other juice machines on the market. You’ll have to decide which is most important to you, quality or price. If you are on a budget and you need an inexpensive juicer you might want to go with the Juiceman JM400. This particular model is available for around $69.99 and received an average user rating of 3.6 out of a possible 5 stars which was higher than any of the other models except for the $25 citrus juicer.
